You Write Like a Girl

Over at bookblog someone has made a web application called the Gender Genie which is based off a NYT inspired article and algorithms by Moshe Koppel and Shlomo Argamon.

Give it a try. Cut & paste some of your fiction into the box and allow it to do it's quick analysis. I tried it with about five pieces of writing of varying length and four of them thought I was a girl, the fifth predicted correctly. I'm not sure what to think of this. Good thing it didn't say I threw like a girl... those would be fightin' words!!!
