Lost In La Mancha

last nights movie was lost in la mancha, a documentary on terry gilliam's attempt to get The Man Who Killed Don Quixote off the ground. back injuries, freakish storms, jets flying overhead and the unexpected continuously sabotage the project. tis quite a shame since based on the bits and pieces you see from their preproduction work, the movie was going to be pretty cool.

we can of course always blame the french for this. jean rochefort was cast as don quixote and eventually it was his back injury that sank the film. nah! it's a curse. orsen wells also never managed to finish his film on don quixote. i guess like the man himself, it can only live outside reality. once sane, he dies.

now sancho, get me my lance!
