Apple On A Stick?

metafilter says that the rejected 9/11 memorial designs are now all on-line. the articles author notes a number of designs, some of which are nuts, others downright insulting if you ask me. seriously though -- an apple on a stick. that, imho, is just plain stupid. and having what the article called ghostly planes or a pez dispenser are downright insulting, disrespectful, and simply in very bad taste.
