Darkness Shines
waiting in the shadows
gazing through the night
darkness closes round him
covering all that once was bright
his dreams and secret yearnings
disappointments cut so deep
together they will haunt him
and through him they do seep
the darkness now is glowing
burrowing deep into his soul
the bitter truth left glistening
never again will he be whole
