September 04, 2003Losing My Virgil-itySometime before 37 B.C., the Roman poet Virgil penned the words Amor vincit omnia which translates to "love conquers everything". With no fault of anyone other than myself, I'm left feeling a bit of a fool for believing too strongly in this axiom. Lest I make it sound otherwise, love does conquer. It allowed me to put aside many fears and to share more than I ever considered possible. To share intimate thoughts, dreams, and desires. To do things I would otherwise thought to be impossible. That ability alone, my dear readers, is worth the price of admission alone. Of note Virgil also said -- "Fortune favors the brave", which are not words that bode well for an anonymous coward such as myself.
