Thanksgiving Recap

Four days off in a row... what is one to do? work of course -- at work and at home. All in all the break was pleasant, partly productive, and i'm torn between thinking it was too long or too short. the fact of the matter is, i didn't get enough done and that bothers me.

what i did do was release a new (ok, updated) mail system with hopefully better spam protection and certainly more features for the users. fixed a nasty backup/mirroring problem and waited and waited while nearly a half-terabyte made its way across my network.

on the home front was fixing up a room to now have 2 nicer computer tables, networking cables are more neatly run along the baseboards and around molding at one doorway, and walls are now completely painted (not of from me doing it) in what i'll call a dark citrusy yellow, but not really, color. two older desks gone and were snatched up from the curb after my daughter put a "free" sign on it. am wondering if doing the same with the old couch and piano would work? hmmm.

what stunk was getting another computer up and running, all patched up and finding out it won't run WoW because of the video card. damn it. i wish it would have said something before the lengthy install. now the dilema -- new computer (and i just bought a new flat panel for this one) or new video card -- especially since this computer is just under the recommended cpu power for the game, but has 3x more than the suggested ram. bah!

oh! and this year it was roast instead of turkey (thumbs up, especially for the seasoning used), fresh mashed (two thumbs up) and on a scale of 1-10 for the meal --- 8. i'm a tough grader sometimes. get over it.
