A New Year, A New Entry

upon returning to work the question asked by everyone to everyone was... "how was your holiday". some went overseas, others out of state, and the majority stayed close to home. "it was nice" was a common answer. mine? i left mine as a single word answer -- "peaceful". now that is relative mind you, there are still 4 children in the home, but i was expecting something bumpier if not down right depressing. that probably comes from a negative bias towards most holidays, but in the end i must say i was pleased with the season. by saying "it wasn't bad" truely is a compliment and "peaceful" is darn near the cat's meow.

so to stuff more into this post as i will remain lazy and not make a second one today...

at lunch i mentioned a few things, one of which i know i posted about months if not a year or so ago...

  • daedalus project where a ph.d. candidate at stanford is writing about mmorpg's and their effects. he has an interesting interview with an mft amongst his recent entries.

  • then just when i thought it was only my kids -- ephemeral profiles popped into my rss feeds one day. i'll need to keep some of those thoughts in my professional mind as well.

  • i read these aloud before the holiday, but figured a link for future readings would be useful. keywords: psychology, christmas carols, funny -- We Three Kings Disoriented Are... classic! heh.

  • search for music by humming -- hsearch.nayio.com.

i think i've distracted myself enough for the afternoon. back to work!
